We determine, numerically, a static solution of the skyrme model in (2+1) dimensions which corresponds to two static skyrmions located 'on top of each other'. Then we consider the scattering of skyrmions and we demonstrate that during this scattering, just before the skyrmions scatter at 90 degrees they evolve through a configuration very close to this static configuration. We also investigate the angle of the scattering as a function of the impact parameter of the incoming skyrmions.
