Dr Jia Wang
Biography | Dr Angelia Jia WANG is an Associate Professor at the Law School, Durham University. Before joining Durham Law School in 2020, she taught at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has been a Research Fellow at the Harvard Berkman Center for Internet and Society (now the Berkman Klein Centre) and a Postdoc Fellow at the Law School, Singapore Management University. Her research interests lie in intellectual property law and the intersection between law and technology. She features multidisciplinary research in collaboration with colleagues in computer science, design and informatics. Her recent research projects include the legal and regulatory aspects of generative AI, including IP protection for AI-generated content and mis/disinformation generated by AI. She wrote on various emerging technology-related IP issues, such as 3D printing, blockchain, video games and non-fungible tokenised artworks. She extends the research beyond the UK to jurisdictions in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. She publishes with Queen Mary Journal of Intellectual Property, Intellectual Property Law and Practise, European Intellectual Property Review, Hong Kong Law Journal, European Review of Private Law, Asian Pacific Law Review and a monograph with Springer. She teaches modules on Intellectual Property Law and Artificial Intelligence & Intellectual Property. |
