Biography Zoe is a history PhD candidate at Durham University, funded through the Sasakawa Japanese Studies Postgraduate Studentship Programme. She has an integrated master’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Japanese Studies from the University of East Anglia in conjunction with the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures (SISJAC). Prior to starting her PhD, she spent two years in Japan as part of the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET).
