Abstract
This book cuts across a range of conceptual and theoretical landscapes, traversing the fields of performance and sport psychology, culture, and its influence on Singapore’s elite sport ecosystem, and the consequent impact on the application and practice of sport psychology. As such, this chapter provides a broad overview of the many concepts and ideas that are pertinent to the understanding and interpretation of what is to follow in this book. Key literature pertaining to each of these areas is discussed throughout.
