Dr Samantha Finnigan

Biography	I am a research software engineering specialist with extensive experience in computational research projects. I earned my PhD from Newcastle University in 2022 in Human Computer Interaction, having authored multiple papers in the emergent research area of human building interaction. My current interest lies in the provisioning and organisation of research software engineering teams, and how such teams drive forwards world-tier research by providing specialist support for any and all computational research components. I am both an academic and a software engineering professional, and sit at the intersection of these disciplines in developing best practice and first-class software service provision within the Advanced Research Computing unit at Durham University.
