Biography | I am an Environmental Behavioural Scientist and research how to foster climate citizens by understanding motivations to be eco-friendly and how to change behaviours. Most people in the United Kingdom care about the planet and see climate change as a serious problem that needs to be addressed. Behavioural science teaches us however that there is often a gap between intentions (in this case to be eco-friendly) and behaviour, and that this gap is driven by processes we are not aware of. If we can understand these processes, study behavioural motivations, and develop behaviour change interventions I am confident we can foster a nation of climate citizens. My research programme as outlined below reflects my desire to understand how that is possible and if we can empirically test it to produce an evidence base for public policy implementation. |
