Gloria Roden-Lui

Biography	I graduated from Durham University (BSc Psychology Applied 2016 - 2019) and the University of Manchester (MSc Forensic Psychology and Mental Health 2019 - 2020). I have experience and a background in both Clinical and Forensic psychiatric settings. I am a keen advocate in patient/service users' rights and, through empirical research, voicing their views in making key systemic changes. I am also interested in the family/carers involvement with services and research around the quality of care provided whilst individuals are detained under the Mental Health Act or imprisonment. I am interested in research around tackling Sexual Violence and Misconduct in Higher Education. I have a particular interest in how culture and ethnicity may influence rates of reporting, in addition to evaluating the processes used by Universities when incidents are reported to them. Recent and current projects that I am involved with: -Increasing physical activities in medium secure forensic psychiatric hospitals, through co-produced intervention development methodologies. -Improving primary care services for imprisoned women with serious mental illness. I am also currently completing a part-time PhD, which explores the views of service users, hospital staff and family/carers in the use of restraint in secure forensic psychiatric services, in England and Wales.
