Biography Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman is working as a PDRA of ENHANCES- Enhanced Ecosystem Services in Suriname. He is also a faculty in the Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline at Khulna University, located in Khulna, Bangladesh. He holds the title of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) in the United Kingdom, reflecting his commitment to excellence in higher education.

Dr. Rahman earned his PhD in Physical Geography from Durham University, UK, and was honored as a Commonwealth Fellow during his doctoral studies. His research primarily focuses on mangrove ecology and management. He employs advanced Earth observation data to map and monitor vegetation and biomass changes in mangroves and urban green areas in Bangladesh, making significant contributions to our understanding of these vital ecosystems.

Before his doctoral journey, Dr. Rahman completed an M.Sc. in Forest and Nature Conservation at Wageningen University and Research Centre, The Netherlands. His academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in forestry at Khulna University. Beyond academia, Dr. Rahman is renowned for his dedication to environmental conservation, particularly in preserving Bangladesh's critical mangrove ecosystems. His work not only advances forestry but also inspires future environmentalists and educators. In the academic world and beyond, Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman continues to be a driving force in the pursuit of sustainable environmental practices, making a lasting impact on both his students and the ecosystems he studies.
