Biography	My research focuses on herbicide resistance management and crop protection, developing innovative solutions to address the growing issue of herbicide resistance in agriculture. Working closely with an industrial partner, NuFarms, a key contribution of my work is the advancement of herbicide booster technology, a novel approach that incorporates natural metabolites into herbicide formulations. This innovation specifically targets the plant death machinery in resistant weeds, allowing farmers to use lower herbicide dosages while maintaining effective weed control. This approach not only reduces environmental impact but also improves food safety. In addition to herbicide booster development, I explore the genetic modification of target crops to enhance their resilience to herbicides. By employing genetic tools, we aim to produce crops that are more resistant to herbicides, minimising the risk of crop damage during treatment. Furthermore, I am developing a comprehensive screening platform, offering additional protection against herbicide damage. This platform has the potential to optimise weed control strategies while protecting valuable crops.
