Biography Danny McGowan is a Professor of Finance. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham. Danny’s research interests lie in banking and financial intermediation, real estate markets, and household finance and he has published articles in the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Financial Intermediation, and other journals. To date, he has been awarded £600,000 of research grant funding from the ESRC, Leverhulme Trust, and British Academy and his work has been cited in several House of Commons inquiries and has influenced practitioners such as the HM Treasury, HMRC, the Money and Pensions Service, and the OECD. Before joining Durham, he worked at Bangor, Nottingham, and Birmingham.
Research Interests Applied Microeconomics with focus on banking and financial intermediation, real estate markets, and household finance.
