Biography Rebecca's main research interests focus on the use of institutional economic theory to analyze institutional as well as organizational change. In terms of applied research Rebecca’s interests focus on the impact of corporate governance on firm performance.
Rebecca also conducts research into ways to improve teaching and learning of economics and finance in Higher Education.
Rebecca previously served as the Associate Dean for Accreditation and Quality Assurance (2019-2023), Senior Exam Board Chair UG (2019), Deputy Exam Board Chair UG (2016-2019), Deputy Programme Director for the full-time MBA programme (2005-08) and Programme Coordinator for research programmes (2003-2005) in the Business School.
Rebecca’s teaching has covered mainly Corporate Governance (at undergraduate and masters level), Business Economics (at masters and MBA level), Financial Management (at masters level), Corporate Finance (at MBA and masters level) as well as Institutional Economics and Comparative Economic Systems (at undergraduate and masters level).
Prior to the appointment at Durham in 1999 Rebecca worked for five years at the Department for Economic Theory (II) and the Research Institute for Comparative Economic Systems at the Philipps University, Marburg, Germany.
