Biography Abdullah al-Khonaini is a PhD candidate in comparative politics at the School of Government and International Affairs researching the Kuwaiti National Assembly. Abdullah completed his MA in ‘Power, Participation, and Social Change’ from the Institute of Development Studies at Sussex University. He co-founded Raqib50, a parliament watch website in 2011.

His other research projects focus on youth citizenship education, participatory action research in schools, and urban governance and segregation in Kuwait. Previously, Abdullah worked on research and consultancy projects with local, regional, and international organizations such as the International Labour Organization (ILO), Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), and Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs in Beirut.
