Abstract

This paper provides an overview of the establishment of a digital twin framework for building construction. The research focuses on the construction of the virtual layer and the data layer and the connection between the two. The article discusses the choice of all technology stacks and discusses the reasons and advantages of the choice. Three.js was used to create the virtual layer in the digital twin framework, using AWS as the data processing and storage platform. Data communication between the front-end application and back-end service was achieved through HTTP protocol. HTTP as the data transfer method has comprehensive performance and low development cost, but still has technical limitations so in future we will consider adopting high-performance tools based on the UDP protocol such as Aspera. The aim of this paper is to promote the application and development of digital twins in building construction through the study of digital twins in the construction industry.
