In a recent article, David Builes (2024) argues that one should not try to combine a Platonic account of properties with the recently-popular grounding theory of powers, as proposed in Tugby 2022. According to Builes, Aristotelian or nominalist theories of properties are better placed to meet the explanatory demands of the grounding theory of powers. In this reply, I cast doubt on Builes’s argument.
