Synthesis of some polymerisable fluorescent dyes

Abstract

The preparation of some fluorescent polymerisable dyes and brighteners derived from 4-subsituted N-alkyl-1,8-naphthalimide are presented. Each of the dyes were copolymerised with styrene giving coloured fluorescent polymers that were stable to solvent extraction. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
