POLY(N-METHYLISOINDOLE), A COLOR NEUTRAL CONDUCTING ORGANIC POLYMER
Hanly, NM; Bloor, D; Monkman, AP; Bonnett, R; Ribo, JM
Abstract
Poly(N-methylisoindole) is prepared by chemical and electrochemical methods and its properties are reported: the polymer shows interesting optical, electrochromic and conducting behaviour. It shows a colour change (golden to near colourless) on oxidation associated with absorption in the near infrared (lambda(max) about 1400 nm) in the doped polymer and an intrinsic bandgap of about 2 eV.
