Abstract

Presents a study of the courts' approach to reviewing the decisions of ombudsmen. Examines key features of the parties' relationship, the applicable principles of administrative law, the methodology of the survey, and its main findings on issues such as the role of statutory interpretation and the use of judicial creativity. Details the grounds on which decisions may be quashed, the uses of precedent, and the main lessons of the study.
