Abstract

We study the enhancement of spontaneous emission of the dipole embedded in the layered metal-dielectric structure. Such systems have attracted great scientific interest over the past decade due to their special optical properties emanating primarily from hyperbolic dispersion of isofrequency surface, and therefore are generally called hyperbolic metamaterial (HMM) systems.
