Xueni Zhang

Biography	Xueni Zhang is a PhD candidate (with CSC scholarship) at the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, Durham University. She obtained her MPhil degree in Second Language Education from the University of Cambridge in 2020. Her research investigates cross-linguistic co-activation in simultaneous interpreting and bilingual processing using the eye-tracking visual world paradigm. She also examines executive functions in relation to interpreting and second language experience. Xueni is interested in the cognitive aspects of interpreting and bilingualism, intercultural communication competence, and second language acquisition and practice generally.
