Abstract

The intermittent and fluctuating nature of wind energy challenges the stability of power grids. This paper proposes a coordinated control strategy for a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) and lithium-ion energy storage systems to achieve power smoothing. The performance of the suggested system and algorithm is simulated using PSCAD/EMTDC software. The simulation results are being compared to conventional and Kalman-filtered smoothing approaches in terms of their smoothness and power output level. The study showcases the effectiveness of this strategy in achieving a stable power output to the grid.
