Abstract

A catalytic amount of osmium tetroxide in association with sulfoxides or N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide can be used to catalyse the oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to their corresponding carbonyl compounds. (C) 2000 Editions scientifiques et medicales Elsevier SAS.
