Abstract

Modelling of soil-atmosphere interaction for slopes requires a proper understanding of the soil parameters (soil retention curve and the permeability function). This paper reports on numerical investigations of an instrumental residual soil slope in Singapore. The slope is located on the campus of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in western Singapore. The slope has been analysed using an uncoupled unsaturated flow model (SEEP/W) and a hydro-mechanical coupled model (PLAXIS) with time dependent boundary conditions.
