THERMOELECTRIC-POWER MEASUREMENTS IN HIGHLY CONDUCTIVE STRETCH-ORIENTED POLYANILINE FILMS
Holland, ER; Monkman, AP
Abstract
We have measured the thermopower of stretch-oriented, free-standing films of polyaniline (PANi) which after protonation have electrical conductivities of the order 300 S cm(-1) at room temperature. Our data show a striking contrast between trends in the thermopower measured parallel and perpendicular to the axis of orientation. It is suggested that in such orientation films it is possible to observe differences between intrachain and interchain transport properties from macroscopic electrical measurements.
