Hadrian's Wall: a wall for all times

Abstract

Hadrian built a wall in northern Britain in the second century AD. Three centuries later it was abandoned. Yet, as Richard Hingley and Claire Nesbitt show, curiosity, national pride and tourism have kept the wall alive.
