Folding defect affine Toda field theories (2014)
Journal Article
Robertson, C. (2014). Folding defect affine Toda field theories. Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical, 47(18), Article 185201. https://doi.org/10.1088/1751-8113/47/18/185201

A folding process is applied to fused a(1) r defects to construct defects for the non-simply laced affine Toda field theories of c(1) n , d(2) n and a(2) 2n at the classical level. Support for the hypothesis that these defects are integrable in the f... Read More about Folding defect affine Toda field theories.

Reflection subgroups of odd-angled Coxeter groups (2014)
Journal Article
Felikson, A., Fintzen, J., & Tumarkin, P. (2014). Reflection subgroups of odd-angled Coxeter groups. Journal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 126, 92-127. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcta.2014.04.008

We give a criterion for a finitely generated odd-angled Coxeter group to have a proper finite index subgroup generated by reflections. The answer is given in terms of the least prime divisors of the exponents of the Coxeter relations.

On the helicity of open magnetic fields (2014)
Journal Article
Prior, C., & Yeates, A. (2014). On the helicity of open magnetic fields. Astrophysical Journal, 787(2), Article 100. https://doi.org/10.1088/0004-637x/787/2/100

We reconsider the topological interpretation of magnetic helicity for magnetic fields in open domains, and relate this to the relative helicity. Specifically, our domains stretch between two parallel planes, and each of these ends may be magnetically... Read More about On the helicity of open magnetic fields.

Supersymmetric Perturbations of the M5 brane (2014)
Journal Article
Niarchos, V. (2014). Supersymmetric Perturbations of the M5 brane. Journal of High Energy Physics, 2014(5), Article 023. https://doi.org/10.1007/jhep05%282014%29023

We study long-wavelength supersymmetric deformations of brane solutions in supergravity using an extension of previous ideas within the general scheme of the blackfold approach. As a concrete example, we consider long-wavelength perturbations of the... Read More about Supersymmetric Perturbations of the M5 brane.

The solar cycle variation of topological structures in the global solar corona (2014)
Journal Article
Platten, S., Parnell, C., Haynes, A., Priest, E., & Mackay, D. (2014). The solar cycle variation of topological structures in the global solar corona. Astronomy & Astrophysics, 565, Article A44. https://doi.org/10.1051/0004-6361/201323048

Context. The complicated distribution of magnetic flux across the solar photosphere results in a complex web of coronal magnetic field structures. To understand this complexity, the magnetic skeleton of the coronal field can be calculated. The skelet... Equilibrium Morphologies and Force Extension Behavior for Polymers with Hydrophobic Patches: Role of Quenched Disorder (2014)
Journal Article
Mishra, A., Panwar, A., & Chakrabarti, B. (2014). Equilibrium Morphologies and Force Extension Behavior for Polymers with Hydrophobic Patches: Role of Quenched Disorder. Macromolecular Theory and Simulations, 23(4), 266-278. https://doi.org/10.1002/mats.201300154

Equilibrium morphologies and mechanical properties of copolymers with hydrophobic segments are explored using Langevin dynamics simulations. The interplay between different length scales, namely, persistence length ℓp, and disorder correlation length... Orbits for products of maps (2014)
Journal Article
Pakapongpun, A., & Ward, T. (2014). Orbits for products of maps. Thai Journal of Mathematics, 12(1), 33-44

We study the behaviour of the dynamical zeta function and the orbit Dirichlet series for products of maps. The behaviour under products of the radius of convergence for the zeta function, and the abscissa of convergence for the orbit Dirichlet series... Read More about Orbits for products of maps.

Bayesian inference for transportation origin-destination matrices: the Poisson-inverse Gaussian and other Poisson mixtures (2014)
Journal Article
Perrakis, K., Karlis, D., Cools, M., & Janssens, D. (2015). Bayesian inference for transportation origin-destination matrices: the Poisson-inverse Gaussian and other Poisson mixtures. Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A, 178(1), 271-296. https://doi.org/10.1111/rssa.12057

Transportation origin–destination analysis is investigated through the use of Poisson mixtures by introducing covariate‐based models which incorporate different transport modelling phases and also allow for direct probabilistic inference on link traf... Modelling exclusive meson pair production at hadron colliders (2014)
Journal Article
Harland-Lang, L., Khoze, V., & Ryskin, M. (2014). Modelling exclusive meson pair production at hadron colliders. The European Physical Journal C, 74(4), Article 2848. https://doi.org/10.1140/epjc/s10052-014-2848-9

We present a study of the central exclusive production of light meson pairs, concentrating on the region of lower invariant masses of the central system and/or meson transverse momentum, where perturbative QCD cannot be reliably applied. We describe... Read More about Modelling exclusive meson pair production at hadron colliders.
