Abstract

We find the gravitational field of a ‘‘nested’’ domain wall living entirely within a brane-universe, or, a localized vortex within a wall. Using two illustrative examples, a vortex living on a critical Randall-Sundrum brane universe and a nested Randall-Sundrum scenario, we show that the induced gravitational field on the brane is identical to that of an (n21)-dimensional Einstein domain wall. We comment on the absence of any ‘‘nonconventional’’ interactions and the definition of the braneworld Newton constant.
